Aluminium clad pipework running through a plant deck

Pipework insulation and cladding

Thermal and acoustic insulation for mechanical pipework, finished in metal or PVC cladding we make in our own factories.

Insulated properly, clad to last

Insulation on pipework saves energy, stops condensation on cold lines and keeps hot lines safe to touch. We install it to NCC Section J and the project specification, with a continuous vapour barrier on chilled and refrigeration lines.

Cladding then protects it from weather, damage and foot traffic, in plant rooms, risers, ceilings and on roofs.

Pipe insulation for chilled water

Chilled water pipe insulation has one job above all: keep moisture out. We use closed cell polyethylene, Thermobreak, FlexiCell, elastomeric rubber or PIR sections, sized to the R value in the specification and NCC Section J, and seal every joint, valve and fitting so the vapour barrier is continuous.

Pipe lagging for heating hot water and steam

Heating hot water, steam and condensate lines are lagged with polyethylene, glasswool or Rockwool sections depending on the temperature, then clad. It saves energy and keeps the pipe safe to touch in plant rooms and risers.

Pipework cladding made in house

Our Melbourne and Perth factories make the cladding: straights, bends, tees, reducers, end caps and removable valve boxes in Zincalume, galvanised steel, aluminium, stainless steel and Colorbond, or PVC jacketing for internal work.

From one plant room to whole hospitals

Jobs range from a chiller changeover over a weekend to more than 10 km of pipe insulation on one Perth hotel and over 2 km of clad chilled water mains on one hospital upgrade.

Pipework insulation and cladding: common questions

Do you make the cladding yourselves?

Yes. We make cladding and fittings in our own Melbourne and Perth factories, so they are made to suit the job and arrive when the crew needs them.

Can valves and flanges still be serviced?

Yes. We make removable, insulated valve and flange covers so maintenance can get to them without damaging the insulation.

Do you repair existing insulation?

Yes. We strip and replace damaged or wet insulation and cladding, including on live plant.
