Colour coded Colorbond pipework
Colorbond pipe cladding over more than 2,000 metres of pipework, with chilled and heating water in different colours.
Colorbond pipe cladding, colour coded
Every length of pipework on this job was insulated and clad in Colorbond, more than 2,000 metres of it across the new areas of the building and the areas built for the future.
Chilled and heating water were clad in different colours. You do not see that level of visual separation often any more, and it makes the plant areas clear to read and look the part.
Most of the cladding went in through very tight spaces, so the planning and sequencing mattered as much as the workmanship. The job was led from start to finish by Trevor Yates, our Victorian state manager.
Colorbond pipe cladding is durable and comes in a wide range of colours, which made the colour separation on this job possible. For example, maintenance staff can tell the chilled and heating water apart at a glance, so the plant is easier to work on for years. However, colour also shows every joint, so the cladding had to be cut and fitted neatly. As a result, the finish is one of the best our Victorian crews have delivered.
Our scope
- Insulation and Colorbond cladding to all pipework
- Over 2,000 m across the new and future areas of the build
- Chilled and heating water clad in separate colours
- Cladding in very tight spaces, carefully sequenced
