Maroochydore Hospital mechanical upgrade

Chilled and heating hot water to new AHUs, chillers and heat pumps, finished in Iron Grey Colorbond.

Sunshine Coast, QLD

The Maroochydore Hospital job

As part of a new mechanical upgrade at Maroochydore Hospital, our Queensland team insulated and clad the chilled water and heating hot water services to the new AHUs, chillers and heat pumps.

The external services were finished in Iron Grey Colorbond to match the existing plant, so the hospital has one clean, consistent finish across the roof.

In Queensland humidity the vapour seal on chilled water is everything. One gap lets condensation in, so every joint, valve and fitting was sealed continuously.

At Maroochydore Hospital, the new services had to match the plant already on the roof, so Iron Grey Colorbond was used throughout. In addition, chilled water in Queensland humidity needs a vapour seal with no gaps, so our crew sealed every joint, valve and fitting. As a result, the hospital has a consistent finish and services protected from condensation for the long term.

Our scope

  • Chilled water insulation to new AHUs, chillers and heat pumps
  • Heating hot water insulation
  • Iron Grey Colorbond cladding to match the existing plant
  • Continuous vapour sealing for Queensland humidity
