Olympus headquarters and service centre

The new Olympus corporate headquarters in Melbourne houses their national service centre for the repair and servicing of endoscopes. It is a 5 star Green Star and 5 star NABERS building, with chilled and heating water from modular heat pump chillers.

It is a specialised facility, so noise and vibration needed extra care. Alongside the chilled water and heating hot water insulation and metal cladding, we sound lagged services and wrapped ductwork to keep noise out of the work areas.

We also insulated and clad the external mechanical units and their services, so the plant on the outside is finished to the same standard as the inside.

Olympus Melbourne is a specialised building, so the mechanical services had to be quiet as well as efficient. That is why sound lagging and duct wrapping were part of our scope, alongside the thermal insulation. In addition, a 5 star Green Star and NABERS building depends on its services performing as designed, so the insulation was installed to the specification without gaps. As a result, the plant runs efficiently and quietly.
