Orthonova Hospital

Orthonova is a new hospital in Perth, and our WA team ran its mechanical insulation package.

We insulated and clad the chilled water and heating hot water services, the AHUs, chillers and fan coil units, and installed fire wrap to the fire rated ductwork to the tested system.

A new hospital has to be right at handover, so our crew insulated and finished every service to the specification and recorded it for the certifier.

On a new hospital like Orthonova Hospital, the insulation has to perform from the first day the plant runs. That is why chilled water gets a continuous vapour seal, so condensation cannot form, and heating hot water insulation keeps heat in the pipe instead of the ceiling. In addition, fire wrap is only as good as the way it is installed, so our crew followed the tested system detail by detail. Finally, photos and records go to the builder at handover.
